The Summer of Yes…

REVAE_PARSONS_055First things first, and that’s usually business, so let’s talk about my baby Femme du Coupe. Well, it’s really older than a baby and just about out of the toddler phase since we’re approaching 4 years in business. We are now working with 6 restaurants in the Chicagoland area, 3 of which are currently open, and we now have a few restaurants using Le Sirop as well! Yippee! We will have a few more added by the end of the year, but we’re sending it out as fast as I can make it at this point. We’ll be on a production line soon but that’s another big announcement. 😉 And don’t forget to get your holiday events booked now as our calendar is filling up fast!

On another note, we will be back to blogging after taking some time off, posting once a week so you can See, Sip, Savor, and Be Social with us!

REVAE_PARSONS_027This summer has been a big change for me both professionally and personally. I have a business partner who is my right hand and for the first time ever, I have spent the summer just saying “YES!” As an entrepreneur your identity can get really wrapped up in your business, which for awhile, I admittedly did. Lisa has been such a sounding board and picks up where I leave off. I spent a lot of years saying no to things, not enjoying “Chicago Summer’s” as we so fondly call them, and really not living life to its fullest. This year was time to stop saying no.

Now, let’s talk the summer of “Yes!” It’s not often that you’re at one of your favorite restaurants in town and they tell you they’re about to serve their 100,000th signature drink. Enter a random Wednesday night at Parson’s Chicken and Fish having yet another Frozen Negroni with my friend H. When we sat they were down to 50, by the end of dinner it was roughly 20 left to go, so may as well buy a round for a few people and show a little goodwill, therefore I became the proud owner of the 100,000th Frozen Negroni served at Parson’s.
REVAE_PARSONS_034I had a huge, life altering change, that as scary as it was, made me reflect on my life. Who I am, who I wanted to be, and the person I wanted to spend my life with all were called into question. You can never anticipate the curveballs life throws at you but this was so much for the better. I finally said “Yes!” As much as I could, I just went for it, and stopped holding myself back! (My Instagram feed is proof)

If someone asked me out for a drink, asked me to meet them to dance at 1am (two good pairs of heels later), asked me to walk down Lakeshore Drive and just appreciate the sunrise even though it was early, I said yes. I’ve gone to almost every restaurant I’ve wanted to, drank my weight in Rosé, made a plethora of new friends, traveled a little bit, and had more fun than I ever could have imagined. Some days I worked a bit hungover, there were some weekends I spent just doing nothing but watching Netflix, but I wouldn’t change it for anything.

I cut 8 inches off my hair, all of the pesky flyaway hairs that couldn’t quite make it into my ponytail were shaved off and turned it into a star! I got my first tattoo. I got my heart broken a little, then met someone who made my heart more full than it’s ever been. I admittedly am a very strong personality, but for the first time, I have someone who embraces that instead of making me question it, and gives me a run for my money! At 31, I am probably the most “me” I’ve ever been. As a paralyzingly shy kid from Carmel, Indiana, it’s a place I didn’t ever know I’d be!REVAE_PARSONS_002I know there are bumps in the road for everyone and I’ve had my fair share but you can never expect when they’ll happen but for as long as summer lasts, just say yes! You can always say no when colder weather comes around. You may just end up with the 100,000th Frozen Negroni and a really badass t-shirt!

Cheers to summer,
