Original recipe by Dale DeGroff
Serves 15 – 20:

1 gal. Apple Cider
32 oz. Jim Beam Devils Cut Bourbon
8 Cinnamon sticks
8 whole cloves
Peels from 2 naval oranges ( zest only, very little pith)
2.75 oz Dale’s Pimento Aromatic Bitters

Combine apple juice, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and an orange peel in a stainless steel pot and let simmer for one hourand a half. Do not boil. Strain and chill in the fridge; when cold serve Note: Add bourbon for an alcoholic version of the punch. For a party, you can serve the punch in a hollowed out pumpkin:

Prepare pumpkin as you would a Jack O’ Lantern. Cut away strands and seeds from lid. Clean inside of pumpkin with spoon, careful not to puncture the skin or bottom. Rinse and check for leaks. Fill with hot punch and replace the lid. To serve: ladle into mugs and garnish with a cinnamon stick. Pumkin seeds can be roasted and salted and served on the side.IMG_2447IMG_2442IMG_2471

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of working with Dale DeGroff’s Pimento Bitters and it was just too cute not to share! The simple recipe makes holiday entertaining a breeze and quite tasty. As you’re making your Halloween plans, hallow out that pumpkin and throw some booze in it because lets face it, thats a much better use for it than drawing a face on it. Set a little time aside to warm the cider otherwise just grab a measuring cup and bottoms up!

Happy sipping!
